Join Laurel and Hardy for a slapstick tour of Wolverhampton

Central Youth Theatre (CYT) are celebrating classic comedy by bringing Laurel and Hardy back to the Black Country.

CYT’s theatre company Forefront, for members aged 18+, will be recreating these two icons of the silver screen, who will be popping up around the city centre on Saturday 26th October and Saturday 2nd November, and putting on a full production telling the story of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Laurel and Hardy
Doors 7.15pm, starts 7.30pm-9.30pm
Newhampton Arts Centre

Tom McGrath’s script about the life of Laurel and Hardy provides not just an insight into their slapstick but also tells the story of this seemingly mismatched pairing of comedians – who became not only inseparable in the eyes of the public, but also emotionally dependent on each other in real life. Speaking from the “afterlife”, from which they have both returned, Stan and Ollie tell the story of their lives, and other people who they knew and worked with.

Performers Adam Halcro and Jacob Harvey have been commissioned by Funny Things 2019 to hone their skills as young comedy performers and bring to the festival this show about the iconic comedy duo.

8+. £8 adults, £6 concessions plus booking fee.
