Peggy and Penny are two poetic pigeons who will be popping up
around Wolverhampton, asking you to share your funny stories in exchange for
a sample of some of Wolverhampton’s best culinary delights,
provided by food businesses in the city.

Your Funny Stories wanted.
Creative Back Country are looking for people to share their stories and memorabilia of seeing local comedians in an effort to find out just what is so unique about Black Country humour.
Do you have funny, daft and silly tales of comedy? If you have something you’d like to share we’d love to hear from you. We want to unearth stories of comedians and comedy from 1950 to 2000, gather oral histories and find amazing anecdotes.
The Joke Box
If you’ve got side-splitting staff, a chuckling CEO,
a rib-tickling receptionist or a dry-witted doorman
we want to hear their jokes. We’re giving Black Country
businesses the opportunity to host our new JOKE BOX.
You’ll be able to see some of the Jokes as part of the JOKE BOX TRAIL where 41 businesses across the Enjoy Wolverhampton BID will be displaying Jokes in their windows for you to find.

Poetic pigeons, Laurel and Hardy, a giant comical automata and a project to find our funny roots. There’s going to be lots happening to get you chuckling over the next few months in the build up to Funny Things 2019.
2019 Line Up
Over the Summer we’ll be announcing our full line-up for Funny Things. Expect hilarious stand-up, fun workshops, improv, theatre, dance, film and kids events.
Whatever tickles your ribs we’ll have something for you.
About Funny Things
Funny Things take place in the Black Country city of Wolverhampton for one week from 26th October to the 2nd November takeing place across 16 venues. After launching the first ever comedy festival in 2017, this year the festival brings you:stand up, live performance, film, poetry, kids comedy, oral histories and tributes celebrating Black Country humour.
